After seeing the documentary “Sex & Money” a group of us decided we had to do something about the issue of human sex trafficking in the United States.
Upon researching other communities who have taken a stand against this issue, we discovered the first step was to educate the community about the issue. And so the journey began. We started by spreading the word to our family and friends, planning a garage sale to raise funds, and organizing a conference.
So far we have educated our community by:
handing out brochures to all who shopped at our garage sale with information about the issue and how to combat it
hosting a conference (you can see information from this event under the conference tab)
showing the “Sex & Money” documentary to 5 different groups of people
creating a website as a resource
meeting monthly with those interested in connecting with local organizations who are fighting this issue in the Ozarks
